Once a child slave, Vedant’s life was defined by desperation. After his sister perished in a factory fire and his parents were killed during a robbery, he was chosen by a higher being to become a demi-god. He now views free will as a curse—the root of all human suffering.

The Soma Protocol: Vedant’s body is composed of Primordial Soma. He "saves" others by absorbing their consciousness, condensing them into immortal essence inside himself. He must fulfill a "questionable quota" of absorption, or suffer agonizing delusions and pain.
